Bio

Andy Korn was born in New York City and grew up in Queens and Scarsdale, NY. He attended both Hunter College and SUNY at Purchase for undergraduate
studies in art and music. Andy decided to take a more personal one to one learning experience by studying with top New York, tri-state area drummer/teachers such as Sonny Igoe, Gary Chester, Frankie Malabe, Steve Loungo, Frank Marino and Rod Morgenstern.

Andy began playing professionally in 1991 with Grammy-Award winning jazz violinist, Noel Pointer. Later that year, he was introduced to Keyboardist Danny Obadia. They went on to form the contemporary jazz group, Aftertouch.
In 1997, their first CD, Where You Belong, was released on the Denon/Savoy/WEA label. The CD received stellar reviews and international acclaim. Andy has performed and toured in Japan, England, Ireland, Scotland
and Belgium, as well as various clubs, concert halls and outdoor venues throughout the United States. On television, Andy has performed on the Conan O'Brian show, BET, VH1 and PBS. He played drums and percussion
on all TV ads for the NBA for the 1999 through 2002 NBA season, including the WNBA theme.

Andy has performed and recorded with Ronnie Spector, Terumasa Hino, Rex Rideout, Jeff Bova, Angela Boffill, Bobby Lyle, Evelyn "Champaign" King, Melba Moore, Lafayette Harris Jr., Dave Valentin, Chuck Loeb, Keith Richards, Beth Orton, Will Downing, Sarah Cion, Bobby Baldwin, John Waite, Marion Meadows, The (original) Crystals, Joey Ramone, producer Daniel Ray, Tuaca Kelly, KJ Denhert and many other notable singer-songwriters and musicians.

He is currently available for hire as a producer and soundtrack composer for large or small projects.
